Description (last modified by )
Some chroma artefacts randomly appear on decoded VVC streams using ffmpeg (or ffplay). The artefacts do not appear using the reference VTM model (tested on VTM-23.3) nor with any VVC-compatible stream analyzer.
How to reproduce:
% ffmpeg -i Visual720p_QP1000000.BIN visual_1280x720.yuv ffplay version 7.1-full_build-www.gyan.dev Copyright (c) 2003-2024 the FFmpeg developers built with gcc 14.2.0 (Rev1, Built by MSYS2 project)

I was after 4 or 5 tries able to play it without any artefacts on older commit b9145fcab27da9e14c6929036d771afd1907a771

I believe this should be resolved by https://patchwork.ffmpeg.org/project/ffmpeg/patch/20241230175939.9793-2-post@frankplowman.com/. Could you please check on your side?
EDIT: I just decode the stream a couple more times, and the problem is not entirely gone (although it is intermittent and possibly occurs less with the patch applied). I will investigate further.
