On ​https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/AAC I read: "Note: HE-AAC version 2 only handles stereo. "

Instead HE-AAC v.2 supports multichannel: ​https://www.iis.fraunhofer.de/en/ff/amm/prod/audiocodec/audiocodecs/heaac.html
