Note that the current version of xine reads the VTS_01_1.VOB without any problem.
Is it due to a missing codec?

I'm embarrassed because I have developped a kdenlive project which uses some clips extracted from VOB files. With the current ffmpeg version my kdenlive project is broken...
Help is welcome

I built the latest ffmpeg version and got the same problem.

This does not look like a valid ticket: Please recompile from current sources or download a static build from the download page.

The more important question though is: Where does your binary come from? If they will not fix it, we should try to stop them from distributing such crap, as you have shown this is not ideal for our image.

Finally: Please switch to packman which is the recommended packager for Suse Linux.

Following your advice, i replaced the ffmpeg version comming with the default Suse repository by the version available under packman And I got the same error.

Replying to steer:

Following your advice, i replaced the ffmpeg version comming with the default Suse repository by the version available under packman And I got the same error.

Command line and complete, uncut console output missing.

I would have expected your new FFmpeg version to be 3.0.1:

ffplay works with your new FFmpeg version (3.0.1) many thanks for the help

But this do not solve the problem with my kdenlive problem. I will submit it to the kdenlive team

Thanks again
