Description
FFMPEG seems to be missing documentation about which audio/video formats can be muxed into which containers
for example, muxing an (HE)AAC/AC3/DTS/MP3/VORBIS audio track into MP4 works fine
however, muxing a FLAC audio track into MP4 fails with "codec not currently supported in container".
is there any information which audio formats can be muxed into MP4 in special or which audio/video formats can be muxed into which containers in general?

I believe that such a list is outside the scope of FFmpeg development.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
i dont think there is an official list either. apple does not produce one.
so its up to each codec to decide if they are to be stored in mp4 or not, and then they set the packet size and isom tag and metadata.
