Description

Hardware used: Amd 5500U APU
Version: ffmpeg 7.1.1

Summary of the bug:
trying to use the vulkan mp4 codec, it fails with error

Device creation failed: -12.
Failed to set value 'vulkan=vk:0' for option 'init_hw_device': Cannot allocate memory
Error parsing global options: Cannot allocate memory

How to reproduce:

ffmpeg -init_hw_device "vulkan=vk:0" -hwaccel vulkan -hwaccel_output_format vulkan -i VID_XXXX.mp4 -crf 42 VID_XXXX-smaller.mp4

Blame nvidia.
There's a patch on the ml.

oh alright, im going to try that patch (if i figure out how to compile linuxbrew stuffs)
